Hymnfest
Friday 24th April, Saint Alkmund's Church
in Shrewsbury is playing host to an informal but enjoyable ‘hymnfest'.
"Songs of Praise" begins at 6 p.m.
and anyone who wishes may join us in a collection of favourite hymns. Led by Jeremy Lund (St Alkmund's) and with Tony Pinel (St Chad's) at the organ, this is an entertainment for all. In between the well-known hymns will be some brief stories to illuminate this important part of our heritage - these stories will provide a short rest for the voice before we move on to the next familiar tune!
Entry is free (though a small donation to the church would not be refused!) and no musical knowledge or ability is required (though naturally it will be welcomed)! If you enjoy singing, why not come along and join us for an hour at the start of the weekend?
