For the world - that wherever there is a spark of belief, God will add the fuel of his love and the oxygen of his Spirit so that the flames of faith may burn bright and the darkness be overcome. Especially in places of conflict.

CHURCH IN ACTION ON THE STREETS
PRAYER DIARY (no 12)
JUNE, JULY & AUGUST 2025
"May you be strengthened ... so that you may be able to endure everything with patience"
This prayer diary initiative joins with the Prayer Buddies, the Prayer Pastors and the nightly Prayer Supporters in building up the wonderful structure of prayer that underpins Shrewsbury Street Pastors.
| 1 | Currently the SP team consists of 28 volunteers. There has been no need for a shift to be cancelled recently. Praise! |
| 2 | 5 people are in training at the moment (late May). Pray for them as they absorb everything they need to understand, and the responsibilities they will carry. |
| 3 | The outgoing mayor bestowed his "award for courtesy" on our SPs. |
| 4 | Prayer for the town takes place at Central (above Palmers' Café) every Thursday morning, 9 - 10.30. All welcome. |
| 5 | New SP post: Harriet is promoting SP widely on social media platforms. |
| 6 | SPs were involved in a recent river incident. Praise God for the thorough training in this area. |
| 7 | SP is most definitely a Christian initiative and all SPs must be "regular church worshippers". Pray that our churches will increase support and interest and prayer. |
| 8 | TOWN pray for all the new officers on local town and county councils, for their wisdom and integrity. |
| 9 | Remember trustees of Christian initiatives (the Ark, SPs, Illuminate and others) as they make strategic decisions. |
| 10 | Pray for children who will be transferring schools. SYfC will present "It's your move", to assure them of God's presence. 10 schools, 425 children! |
| 11 | New SP post: Shannon is taking on recruitment, finding creative ways of getting info circulated around churches. |
| 12 | TOWN Pray for our new mayor, Alex Wagner. He has nominated SPs as his "mayor's charity". |
| 13 | Kyles Home CIC is a project to establish a home for homeless people. See Palmers Café for more info. |
| 14 | Pray for river safety, safety on the streets and courtesy for us all as we encounter others around the town, welcoming summer visitors and enjoying our beautiful environment. |
| 15 | SP liaison with the police and other agencies is excellent. |
| 16 | Quote: "Your SPs are the most amazing people. They helped my daughter the other evening. She had been abandoned by her friends and SPs got her home safely". |
| 17 | Pray for all our town churches, for the encouragement of the church leaders and the commitment and witness of all Christians in our town. |
| 18 | 6th July. SYfC celebrates 20 years of working in schools in Shrewsbury. Praise God! |
| 19 | TOWN Thank God for our police and pray for their safety and good judgements. |
| 20 | FOOD BANK Pray for all those who faithfully organise and operate this. Pray for everyone who is in need of it. Pray for politicians to seek to resolve the economic difficulties in our land. |
| 21 | ILLUMINATE our "light on the high street". Pray for Christine as she retires and give thanks for all the people she has prayed with in the shop |
| 22 | Keep praying for the ARK ministering to homeless people, for workers, volunteers and trustees who make decisions. |
| 23 | Praise for churches working and praying together. An ecumenical breakfast is planned in June - St Chad's, URC and the Cathedral. |
| 24 | TOWN Pray for all in the fire service, that they may be kept safe, and thank God for them. |
| 25 | New SP post: Emma is working hard at fund raising, as SPs needs ongoing funding in order to sustain the service in the future. |
| 26 | The Donkey is in need of one new driver |
| 27 | ILLUMINATE PRAY FOR Toby as he takes over, and for the continued witness in the shop. Don't forget - support this by buying books, cards etc there. It's a witness to be cherished! |
| 28 | TOWN Following local elections, pray for all the new people in public office, for their integrity, wisdom and compassion. |
| 29 | Remember refugees from Ukraine who are still in Shrewsbury, and pray for peace in that land and an end to hostilities |
| 30 | May all who travel over this summer have safety. May all who are weary find refreshment in holidays or other beneficial restful times |
