Welcome...
.... to Churches Together in Shrewsbury.
Please pray with us:
For yourself - put on the whole armour of God so that you may be able to stand firm against evil. Ephesians 6 v10-20
For Shrewsbury - that the name of Jesus may be known on the streets. The Street Pastors prayer diary for December 2025 - February 26 is below.
For the world - that wherever there is a spark of belief, God will pour out the fuel of his love and the wind of his Spirit so that the flames of faith may burn bright and the darkness be overcome. Thy Kingdom come, Oh Lord.

CHURCH IN ACTION ON THE STREETS
PRAYER DIARY (no 14)
December 2025 - February 2026

... take it to the Lord in prayer"
This prayer diary initiative joins with the Prayer Buddies, the Prayer Pastors and the nightly Prayer Supporters in building up the wonderful structure of prayer that underpins Shrewsbury Street Pastors.
1 Praise for new SP, Suzanne, and pray for her safety and well-being.
2 Still more recruits are needed for this ministry. At the moment, there are none in training.
3 CHRISTMAS: SYFC: the team will present assemblies and classes at 3 comprehensive schools, telling the real message of Jesus hidden in all the celebrations.
4 CHRISTMAS: SP carol service at the Abbey, 9th Dec, 7pm. May the challenge of Jesus' birth reach many through this service.
5 CHRISTMAS: all December, the police run "Operation Christmas Presence", as a higher level of vigilance is necessary. SP works alongside. So ...
6 CHRISTMAS: Lights switched on 19th November. SP will be there among the crowds. Pray for anyone who has received literature or been helped.
7 CHRISTMAS: carols in the Square, 17th December. SPs will be among the crowds. Pray that the words of the carols will cause many to think more deeply.
8&9 CHRISTMAS: "Builders' Friday" is traditionally when workmen finish work before Christmas and go to the pub. This continues for many as a time of unwinding in this way and is known to be one of the busiest nights of the year for the police. Steve and the SPs work in tandem with paramedics. This year - 19th Dec.
10 New Year's Eve as above, too.
11 After Christmas, pray for all who have been helped by SPs over the Christmas period.
12 Don't forget prayer for our town at Palmers every Thursday morning (9am start). All welcome.
13 Shrewsbury SPs are still going through a transition period. Much prayer for wisdom needed as the trustees manage changes.
14 Remember all our town churches as they plan for the many Christmas services. May non-church people come and be challenged.
15 New Police Inspector in town - Ingrid. Pray for her and for good liaison between SPs and town centre police
16 CHANGES: Pray for Merryn Tenalach, the new coordinator taking on all the many and varied tasks this involves.
17 Remember that our Mayor, Alex Wagner, aims to "keep our town as safe as possible". May that be our continuing prayer.
18 Pray for all our elected representatives.
19 The Donkey: needs drivers and "driver's buddies". These do not need to be church people, but they need to agree with the ethos of the SP organisation.
20 CHANGES: Steve is now the Director of SPs.
21 Pray for Julia Buckley, our MP, for wisdom, and that she may represent her constituency with integrity.
22 Pray for energy, motivation and wisdom for all SPs and for their safety as they are on the streets so late.
23 A young man was recently brought home late one evening by the SPs. His mum was hugely grateful and she told the SPs that she holds them in high regard. Praise! (and pray for the young man and his family)
24 Pray for the SYFC team, for rest now (after Christmas), and for blessing and encouragement as they attend the national conference, 6-8 January
25 Pray for all youngsters who have heard the Good News (from the SYFC team), that they will know the true meaning of Christmas.
26 Remember all those without a home over the Christmas season and the winter months. Pray for all initiatives to offer warmth and love (esp the Salvation Army)
27 Bring paramedics to God's presence, for their patience, skills and safety as they go about into the community.
28 There is still one vacancy for a SP trustee. Pray for the right person to come forward.
29&30 AFTER CHRISTMAS (dates 3-10 of months): pray for God's word to stay in the hearts of those who have come across SPs, and those who have heard the message of Jesus' birth
