This year is the 1700th anniversary of the First Ecumenical Council of Nicaea.
Our Church of the 318 God-bearing Fathers in Shrewsbury holds a unique position as the only church in Western Europe dedicated to the fathers who participated in this foundational council. For this reason, His Eminence Archbishop Nikitas has chosen our parish to host the Greek Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain's ceremonial celebrations of this historic anniversary.
